Beneath these, Chase listed everything they’d discussed—every observation made, encounter had, or burning question pondered. They worked together like two research students compiling data for a final exam. Chase would recall something and jot it down, then Fletcher would do likewise, and on and on this went for nearly half an hour.

Eventually, Fletcher filled Chase in on a few other details, like seeing Dean Mendelsohn taking his medication. When they got to a decent stopping point, the back of the poster was half full:

knows Fletcher’s pops

solicited Fletcher for help

on some kind of medication

oversaw secret MACE delivery

had the hidden trail covered up

illustrates his memories; calls it “memory anchoring”

told Fletcher about memory knifing

overheard discussing increased “dosage” with Doc Sanders

also . . . apparently he’s Doc Sanders’s dad (didn’t see that coming)
